Life is Magical

Hollywood has done a great job of sensationalising EVERYTHING!  They have managed to make adultery look romantic and caused us to believe that everyone has sex on their first date and that it's good!  It is for this reason that we think that our own, everyday, ordinary life is dull and boring and we are left wanting the MAGIC that the movies portray.

Well my friends, let me tell you a little secret!  Life IS magical.  The power lies not in Hollywood's camera lenses or their great musical soundtracks.  It lies in our own mind - that's where the magic starts.  If you want a life as thrilling as the movies then start to believe that your life is way more fun than you realise.

Here is a little simple example.  Today I made a huge tent in my children's bedroom with sheets and blankets.  We lay there playing and giggling.  It was a very special moment, one that could easily have been dismissed as ordinary.  Suddenly it dawned upon me that with an added soundtrack, loads of makeup on me and some professional lighting, we could easily have been in a movie scene in one of those sweet and tender family moments.

Another example is one that I can't go into or my blog might become X-rated.  I am sure you are following my thoughts here?  You know, certain bedroom scenes look so much fun in the movies... but light some candles, add some music, dim the lights and voilà - MAGIC!  Oh stop giggling girls, you know it's true.  Stop thinking that it's only like that in the movies and make your life magical too.  Hollywood is not real but our lives are and we need to get busy with savouring every moment and choosing to see that magic in what could be labeled our 'everyday ordinary life'.

One more little example - my friends.  I choose to see them as super amazing people.  The other day I considered how cool it would be to have a life like they do on the TV program 'Friends' or 'How I met Your Mother' only to realise that my life is way better than that.  I have awesome friends, often a group of us hang out or go out just like on TV, we have a great laugh and sometimes we cry together.  Best of all, my friends are REAL.

So that's my little thought for today - life truly is magical, don't miss out on it because you can't hear the theme tune or because you don't have makeup on.  Get busy with living, Hollywood is a fake copy of the original.  We are living the real thing, let's stop wanting the fake copy!  So ladies, please would you share one of your magic moments with us, I would love to hear about it.

For Such a Time As This

Hello King's Daughters, It's been a while since I've been in touch and King's Daughters has been very quiet, in fact totally dormant.  During this time of dormancy, a seed has been growing inside of me and it's so strong that I have to seriously consider if it's God saying "It's time".  Time to start taking back what the enemy has stolen from us. Time to fight for our families, schools, churches, communities and nation. Time to pray together and be proactive, not reactive to what is going on in the world today. Time to talk about the complex topics that our churches may not be ready to discuss openly such as gender confusion and mental health issues. Time to learn how to generate an income or second income by using what's in our hands and to have extra to be generous to the world around us as we face economic uncertainty.  Time to find balance when everyone else is consumed by busyness. I have a story to tell, a struggle I've been through t
